KUALA LUMPUR: American star Jack Black had made a guest appearance on South Korean variety show Infinite Challenge last year while promoting his film Kung Fu Panda 3 in Seoul.
According to Koreaboo, the actor, singer and comedian was eager to reappear and had taken up Korean to better prepare himself even though nothing is yet set in stone.
“(My command) is still not good but I’m preparing,” he said at the Seoul press conference of his upcoming movie Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, according to Koreaboo.
“I think it’s hard, but after I’ve mastered the language in a couple of months, I’ll be sure to return (to South Korea).
“I miss everyone at Infinite Challenge. We’ll meet again. Thank you,” Black added.
Black reportedly had left a lasting impression on Infinite Challenge’s cast, crew and audience despite there being a language barrier when he guest-starred on the show in January last year.
It was revealed that he was in Seoul only for a limited time, but he agreed to squeeze in the filming in his schedule anyway.
“It was Jack’s first time with the cast, and there were also difficulties in communication,” said show producer Kim Tae-ho, in a news report by Soompi.
“Although we were worried, these concerns were soon unnecessary. Jack was so committed to the show.”
It was also reported that Black had agreed to appear in the episode for free.
Meanwhile, Jumanji opens in local cinemas on Dec 21. It also stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas.
