Neelofa was a last minute addition by the producers: Fahrin Ahmad

KUALA LUMPUR: The inclusion of host Neelofa Mohd Noor to the recent opening of Astro Ria talk show MeleTOP was a “last minute decision” in the words of actor Fahrin Ahmad.

Commenting on the abrupt exit of fellow actor Fattah Amin who was supposed to join him in the recent event, Fahrin said the producers of MeleTOP had originally planned for both of them to appear without the co-hosts Neelofa and Nabil Ahmad.

“Fattah and I were supposed to present the opening of MeleTOP together, but the producers made a last-minute-change, by welcoming Neelofa and Nabil on board, too,” he said when interviewed by mStar Online yesterday.

“However, when I was making my way to the programme’s stage, Fattah suddenly disappeared. This really surprised me, I don’t know what happened – perhaps the producers have the answer,” added Fahrin.

On Tuesday, Fattah’s representative Fas Subari of Fastyle Asia (Fattah’s management team) denied allegations by netizens that he “was not brave enough” to face his ex, Neelofa on the set of MeleTOP.

Fas said the actor left due to an emergency, but declined to elaborate further.

Astro Ria channel manager Emarina Kamal said Fattah was being professional and denied allegations that he did not want Neelofa to helm the interview.

She added that he was already prepared backstage, but had to leave.

The production team, on the show’s official Instagram account, apologised for Fattah’s no-show, and promised to make it up by inviting Fattah and his new bride, actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin for a new interview.

MeleTOP, aired live every Tuesday at 9pm on Astro Ria and Ria HD (channels 104 and 123), is hosted by Neelofa and Nabil.
