KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Nur Fathia Abdul Latiff will be taking a long leave from work as she heads to Los Angeles next month.
However, she denied rumours claiming that this was her way of licking her wounds following the string of controversies she was involved in this year.
She also refuted claims that her upcoming trip to the US was part of her plans to migrate and discontinue her acting career in Malaysia.
According to a news report by Harian Metro, Fathia said the vacation was a long time coming as she had always dreamt of experiencing life abroad.
"I am hoping to find a new perspective on life, especially now that I'm 30 years old, which is why decided to stay for a few months in LA," she said.
"I always keep a positive outlook, and the controversies have never broken my spirit. Yes, they're the result of my own mistakes but I try to learn from them.”
Another reason for her to take a long vacation was because she felt drained after having worked throughout the year without sufficient rest.
"Right now, I want to do whatever I feel like doing. Coincidentally, I don't have any work commitments so that allows me to go on holiday for as long as I want.
"I haven't decided how long my stay in LA will be. I might change my mind after a while and return home sooner than expected."
