The picture saw the 36-year-old actor pointing at the camera while holding up what seemed to look like a police report in his other hand while standing in front of the Mutiara Damansara Police Station in Petaling Jaya.
The accompanying text to the post began with Farid generally thanking everyone who had prayed for him and offered him well wishes.
Then he wrote: “Insya Allah dgn kudrat yg masih tinggal ini saya akan terus memperjuangkan nasib Orang2 Teraniaya..” (God willing, with whatever strength that I still have in me, I will continue to fight for those who are persecuted).
The actor ended his post with a request for people to continue to pray for him so that he would be able to endure and overcome the current rough patch in his life journey so far.
Attempts to contact Farid and his wife Datin Diana Danielle by telephone were futile. When his younger brother Fadzil Zahari was contacted, he declined to comment on the matter.
Farid’s post, which had already garnered close to 58,000 likes, also received over 2,000 comments. Netizens were generally supportive with many wishing that things would go well for the actor.
On Jan 11, Farid was arrested after slapping a police officer and kicking two other civilians at the Kota Damansara Traffic Police Station in Petaling Jaya on the same day.
He was released on bail on Jan 17 after pleading not guilty to four charges, which included criminal assault of a public servant and another count for disorderly conduct.
The charges were read out to him at the magistrate court in Petaling Jaya before Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham, who later fixed March 5 for mention.
