#Showbiz: Bruno Mars' 24K Magic concert on or off?

KUALA LUMPUR: Will popular American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars be able to serenade his army of local fans with his irresistible 24K Magic?

PR Worldwide, the organiser of the Bruno Mars 24K Magic World Tour concert here this coming May 9 certainly thinks so. It has advised ticket holders to refer to its official website or social media page for any updates on the highly-anticipated event.

A spokesperson said that the organiser had received many messages and calls for clarification after the breaking news that the country’s 14th general election would be held on the same day as the concert.

An entry on its facebook page (www.facebook.com/PRWorldwide) yesterday read: “To all Bruno Mars Live in Kuala Lumpur ticket holders, the show is currently scheduled as planned. For event updates, stay tuned to www.prworldwidelive.com.”

The talented artiste will be performing at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil here as part of his world tour’s Asian leg, which also includes stops in Japan, Taiwan, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The 33-year-old, Honolulu-born artiste is also a multi-instrumentalist, record producer and dancer, who has won over 90 awards including multiple Grammys and American Music Awards for his third and latest hit studio album, 24K Magic.

The “That’s What I Like” hitmaker has undeniably left an indelible impression with local music lovers after 12,000 tickets, ranging from RM398 to RM888, for his upcoming concert here were quickly snapped up after only 45 minutes.

At noon yesterday, Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah announced April 28 as nomination day, followed by May 9 as voting day for GE-14.
