KUALA LUMPUR: TV Host and comedian Datuk AC Mizal may have obtained a contract to clean AirAsia aircrafts in Cuci The Movie, but in the real world, he has just chosen to avoid the award-winning airline.
In a Facebook video which he uploaded yesterday, AC whose real name is Mizal Zaini claimed that his luggage was damaged by the airline's staff when it was loaded on board during a recent flight between Penang International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) in Sepang, Selangor.
"My bag is crushed, and it's pretty new. Staff of the airline have not been helpful at all. I'm going to lodge a complaint with AirAsia management, and I hope they will not frustrate customers with such shoddy service next time. I used to travel a lot with this airline, but I've now changed my mind," said AC in the video clip.
AC also remarked sarcastically that AirAsia's "murah" hashtag ought to now read "murah dan punah" ("cheap and crushed").
His video had 478,618 views and 295 comments, and many Netizens expressed regret that airline staff had become careless when handling luggage.
Intan said: "My bag was damaged during a flight to Cochin in India. I complained to AirAsia about this but they've not replied to me for a year."
"When we have a cheap bag, it gets stolen. When we have a pricey bag, it gets damaged. Nice job, AirAsia!" said Don.
"The management should act fast on AC's complaint. It could happen to anyone of us," said Ridzuan.
