KUALA LUMPUR: Popular South Korean girl group TWICE continues to make waves with its releases since bursting onto the music scene in 2015.
Last year, the nine-member outfit dropped its debut album Twicetagram, which became the fastest-selling record by a K-Pop girl group since 2002. It was also the best-selling K-Pop girl group album of 2017.
On Monday, Twice released its latest EP What Is Love?, with an accompanying music video to the title track.
According to Soompi, the music video to What Is Love?, which has already garnered over 42 million views to date on YouTube, has become the fastest K-Pop girl group music video to reach the milestone. The fact that TWICE achieved this in less than six days is quite an impressive feat.
The outfit under JYP Entertainment had also held the previous record for the fastest K-Pop girl group music video to hit 40 million views with its hit song Heart Shaker from last year. It only took six days and nine hours to accomplish the feat.
It was also reported that What is Love? had broken the records for fastest K-Pop girl group music video to reach 20 million and 30 million views on YouTube as well.
Congrats to Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu of TWICE.
