KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and director Shahili Abdan's film 'Crossroads: One Two Jaga' is up for Best Feature Film at the 17th Asian Film Festival in New York (NYAFF) on June 29.
In an Instagram post yesterday, Shahili who is better known as Namron said the film about corruption in the police force joined six other Asian films namely "Blood of Wolves" and "Liverleaf" (Japan), "The Looming Storm" (China), "Men on the Dragon" (Hong Kong), "Microhabitat" (South Korea) and "Respeto" (Philippines) in the award category.
"From Shanghai to New York, our journey continues, bringing Malaysian films around the world," he wrote.
Namron is currently promoting his film, produced by Pixel Play Entertainment and Jazzy Pictures, at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in China.
This festival opened on June 16 and ends next Monday.
"Crossroads: One Two Jaga" focuses on courageous police officers who expose their corrupt superiors. It stars Zahiril Adzim, Namron and Indonesian actors Ario Bayu and Asmara Abigail.
NYAFF will be held at the Film Society of Lincoln Centre and SVA Theatre from June 29 to July 15.
Last April, Namron's film was screened in the 20th Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy.
