KUALA LUMPUR: Is singer-actress Erra Fazira and fellow singer Ahmad Shahir Zawawi’s relationship heading for marriage?
Well, it appears that both of them are clearly not on the same page when it comes to tying the knot.
In a recent interview, Shahir had once again expressed his intentions to wed Erra by this year, even claiming that he was ready to become an “instant father” to Erra’s only child, Engku Aleesya Engku Emran.
“As of now there are plans to head down the marriage route, it's just that no date has been fixed yet. I will announce the details when the time is right,” he said.
“My family is always praying the best for us and hope that our plans will pan out smoothly,” he added.
Meanwhile, when met Erra at a Raya open house in Shah Alam last Friday, she said that she and Shahir were just friends and there had been no discussions to take relationship to the next level.
When asked if she was ready to present a new “father” to Aleesya, Erra admitted she was not.
“It’s not time yet and I’m not ready as I am not seriously committed with anyone,” she said.
Whether or not Aleesya can accept a new father figure in her life, Erra believes her daughter will not have a problem with that as she has already welcomed a new mum when her father who is also Erra’s ex-husband wed Indonesian actress Laudya Cynthia Bella last year.
Recently, Erra and Shahir had fans guessing on the status of their relationship when Erra shared a music video of them and Aleesya using the Tik Tok application. But the video, which was shared on the actress’ Instagram page was deleted shortly after.
