#Showbiz: Henry Golding appears on The View, shares a photo with Whoopi Goldberg

KUALA LUMPUR: After fulfilling his dream of meeting Ellen Degeneres on her talk show last April, Henry Golding came on another popular talkshow, The View.

The English-Iban television host-turned-actor was interviewed by the hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Paula Faris, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin about his upcoming movie, Crazy Rich Asians, which will premiere in August.

The 31-year-old lad took to Instagram to share a photo of him with Goldberg, thanking her and the team for having him on the show.

“Met the super Boss Ladies from @theviewabc today.. LOVE them. Thank you so much for having me talk abuot @crazyrichasians and the importance of the movie.”

On the show, Golding discussed about the casting controversy, responding to claims that he wasn’t Asian enough for the role.

“Being half British, I’ve always struggled with my identity. And the one thing I learned very young was to own my identity.

“I’m Asian through and through. There was nothing I needed to prove,” he said with a smile.

Crazy Rich Asians, a romantic comedy movie adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s novel of the same name will see its Malaysian release on Aug 22.

Goldberg stars alongside Constance Wu and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh.
