#Showbiz: Singer Alyah in the dark over ban by TV station

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datin Alyah admitted that she was not aware a ban has been imposed on her by a TV station.

The 37-year-old artiste whose real name is Noor Hasliah Abu Hassan said that she however noticed that she had been getting lesser invitations to appear on TV shows since early this year.

“Honestly, don’t know about any ban on me appearing on TV shows.

“All I know is that I’ve never turned down offers by any TV stations before and I always made sure that when I’ve given my commitment to be involved in a show, I always gave my full cooperation,” she said after launching her latest single, Jutaan Purnama, in Keriang Hill, Alor Star, Kedah on Thursday.

Apparently, word has it that the singer’s husband, music composer Datuk Ramli MS has been highly critical towards some TV stations in recent times.

“If it’s true I’ve been banned, I can’t really do much about it... it is the prerogative of the TV station,” she said.

“It was early this year that I first noticed lesser number of invitations coming in,” she said adding that, even then, not once did she view the situation negatively but accepted it as a time for some self-improvement.

Alyah said that even though she was a little disheartened about it, at the end of the day, she believed in “rezeki”.

“Even though I’ve not been appearing much on TV, corporate shows have been plenty,” she said.

“I realise that people are not going to put you on the pedestal all the time. There are times when you need to check yourselves and learn from the experience,” she added.

Alyah’s latest tune is composed and written by the prolific team of Hael Husaini, Omar K. and Ezra Kong.

Its music video, which features popular actor Remy Ishak was filmed in Cameron Highlands, Pahang.
