#Showbiz: 'Strike Back' star Daniel MacPherson impressed with Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Australian actor Daniel MacPherson admits he is a newfound fan of all things Malaysian.

He has named Kuala Lumpur, Georgetown and Johor Baru as three great tourist destinations for their fascinating blends of tradition and modernity.

“Every destination in Malaysia is unique and beautiful, with modern cities, lush forests and sandy beaches. They all complement each other and make Malaysia a beautiful place to visit," he said in a news report yesterday.

The 38-year-old, best known for his role as Wyatt in the Cinemax television series Strike Back is in town to film Season 6 of the action drama.

MacPherson also praised the Malaysian film crew as a world class team. “They are true professionals who have been of great help to all of us in the cast,” he said.

British actor Warren Brown, 40, who plays Mac in the series said filming in a tropical country like Malaysia had its challenges, but he was used to it and had a great time on the set.

“It’s an adventure to film in Malaysia, because it’s hot and wet at the same time. Nevertheless, I love the challenge and experience, not to mention the wonderful people here.”

Strike Back also stars Australian actress Alin Sumarwata and British actress Yasemin Allen.

This British-American action adventure based on the novel of the same name by former Special Air Service soldier Chris Ryan, follows the adventures of the members of Section 20, a branch of the British Defence Intelligence Service that operates high-risk missions around the world.
