KUALA LUMPUR: Following the success of Datuk Zainal Abidin’s 35th anniversary concert held last year titled The Musical Journey of Zainal Abidin, the veteran singer is planning to embark on an Asian tour next year.
The 58-year-old singer, widely known for his evergreen hit Hijau, said preparations were underway to ensure a successful outing.
“We are 75 per cent ready for the tour. According to plans, the concert will take place in Singapore, Indonesia and Japan.
“I hope we will be able to create sweet memories for the fans at every country we perform,” he said.
On another note, Zainal who has coloured the music industry for four decades now, is down to perform at a mega concert featuring a line-up of other big names in the music industry, at Dataran Merdeka in November.
“My focus now is on the mega concert which will also be joined by our younger singers,” said Zainal who is busy working on a new album.
