KUALA LUMPUR: It’s an exciting meeting of two worlds as hot English pop singer Dua Lipa recently revealed a collaboration with popular K-Pop girl group BlackPink on a music track.
In an Instagram post yesterday, the 23-year-old Londoner of Albanian descent wrote: “So excited to release a super deluxe edition of my album on October 19th with 3 NEW SONGS!! Think of this as a little gift to wrap up this album cycle! Thank you for all the love and support.”
The post was accompanied by a photo featuring a track list for the “Complete Edition” of the singer-songwriter’s debut album Dua Lipa.
Included on the second disc is a song titled Kiss And Make Up with BlackPink.
According to Soompi, members Jennie and Lisa of the South Korean music quartet had attended Dua Lipa’s concert in Seoul last May.
Meanwhile, BlackPink’s debut EP, Square Up, had already made headlines recently by coming in at No. 40 on the US Billboard 200, making it the music act’s highest selling album in a Western market, with the added milestone of being the highest-charting to date by an all-female K-pop group.
The EP features the group’s current big hit Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.
On a different note, the award-winning Dua Lipa was reported to have said that her sophomore album would most likely be released sometime next year.
The Be The One and Hotter Than Hell hitmaker also revealed that her second studio album would be heavily influenced by the likes of Prince and OutKast among others.
