KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and social media personality Wak Doyok has been hailed by fans as a “loving son” to his mother.
In a recent Instagram post, the Abang Long Fadil 2 star showed Netizens a brief video about how he recently built a new home for his mother, as part of his longtime promise to “give her a better life”.
The new bungalow was constructed on the site of their family home in Klang, and was his Mother’s Day gift for her.
“I thank God for being able to make my dearest mother smile, laugh and be joyful, after many years of patiently raising and educating me. I owe it all to my mother, who has guided me well along the path to become a successful man, and nothing pleases me more than to make her happy,” he said in the caption to his video.
Wak Doyok, 39, whose real name is Mohd Azwan Mohd Nor, said he saved money to build the bungalow over the last few years.
“I worked hard day and night to accumulate enough money to make this new home a reality. I’m not trying to show off here, but to share with fans the importance of caring for our mothers.
“When I was growing up here, life was pretty hard in our little, wooden house that was infested with termites. Yet both my parents braved it all to raise me and make me a success,” said Wak Doyok.
He also said he was “in no hurry to find a wife” because the “most important woman” in his life was his 76-year-old mother. “I’ve promised my mother that I’ll look after her as long as I’m strong and healthy. A promise is a promise.”
Fans and followers commended Wak Doyok for constructing the “dream home” for his mother.
“Treat your mum like a queen. That’s the way it should be,” said Nadrah.
“Terbaik Wak Doyok! You are an inspiration. May God bless you and your mum,” said Izmal.
“You truly inspire us all, Wak Doyok. Heaven lies below our mothers’ feet,” said Khir.
Besides starring in last year’s Abang Long Fadil 2, Wak Doyok has also hosted TV9 travelogue Ke Korea Ke Kita and the ntv7 sitcom Small Mission Enterprise and even directed short film Kayuh in 2015.
