KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Datuk Aaron Aziz who had to drop out from the cast of an HBO production at the eleventh hour, says that he never regretted making that decision.
He said that he was already on filming location in Batam, Indonesia, and was preparing to begin his training sessions when he was informed that his wife Datin Diyana Halik was feeling sickly.
“I made my decision to leave to be with her, and told the producers my problem. Fortunately, they fully understood my situation,” he said.
“Family always comes first,” said the Singapore-born actor in a news report yesterday.
The HBO project, a period drama premiering this Sunday entitled Grisse, would have seen Aaron playing his dream role of a warrior.
He admitted that it would have given him a great opportunity to advance his acting career further at an international level.
“In fact, my wife felt guilty when she later found out that I gave it a miss for her,” said the 42-year-old artiste.
Meanwhile, Aaron has also denied rumours that he was quitting showbiz.
“I’m passionate about acting. It’s just that I’ve not been aggressively taking acting jobs like before,” he said, adding that he was not worried about dwindling popularity since he had experienced it before.
