KUALA LUMPUR: Popular entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Shukri wants to sell off an Instagram page he set up for his adopted kids, Qayyum and Ameena, for a hefty starting price of RM40,000.
The revelation was made known by the 32-year-old cosmetics king after the IG page (@babyterlajaklaris) became a breeding ground for nasty comments left by Netizens, following a video that went viral.
The video, which saw Aliff’s helper allegedly mistreating 12-month-old Qayyum during a birthday bash held recently at his home for the baby and Aliff’s two older children, Qadejah, 8, and Ibraheem, 6, was uploaded on social media by an individual named Nur Alya.
Aliff’s wife, Datin Seri Nur Shahida Mohd Rashid, came to her helper’s defense but Netizens decided to flood @babyterlajaklaris’ IG page with comments that criticised Aliff and Shahida’s parenting skills, as well as how they could overlook the matter.
Unable to handle the pressure from reading the barrage of criticism, Aliff decided to sell off the page instead.
The multi-millionaire explained that he was selling it at such a steep price due to the fact that it was not a fake account filled with purchased followers.
“People have offered to buy over the account before but I didn’t want to sell it as I wanted to share updates of Qayyum and Ameena for their biological parents to see.
“Instead it became a target for people to leave nasty comments, so that was my final straw,” he wrote on Instagram recently.
Unfortunately, his decision to sell off the page didn’t sit too well with his followers either.
Many were appalled that he was still thinking about making money out of a situation like this and questioned why he didn’t just hit the "delete" button on the account, or disable comments.
