KUALA LUMPUR: Red hot K-Pop group BlackPink has been turning heads these past few days.
As a lead up to the release of its new EP, Kill This Love which drops on April 5, hot teaser photos of each of the four members had been released sequentially.
Allkpop reported that an awesome-looking group photo had been uploaded online earlier today.
Looking more edgy and gritty than the previous red-themed solo teasers, fans had commented on how badass the girls look.
Many fans had commented on how their garb reminded them of the fictional spunky archaeologist Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider video games and movies. BlackPink’s comeback title track, Kill This Love, is composed and produced by Teddy and features key sounds of a lead brass with ringing drums.
Meanwhile, American pop star Ariana Grande has also been curious about BlackPink.
A fan recently asked Grande if she knew who BlackPink was and the global artiste replied in the affirmative and that she was aware of the K-Pop girl group. Allkpop reported that Grande would check out the quartet’s set at the upcoming Coachella music festival in the US.
Apparently, a screenshot of this online conversation was quickly shared and has since gone viral on Twitter.
The American singer is slated to headline Coachella on April 14 and 21, while BlackPink perform there as well on April 12 and 19.
The South Korean music outfit will be the first K-Pop girl group to perform at the popular fest. BlackPink’s members, Jennie and Lisa, had also recently met up with American music star Pharrell Williams.
Allkpop reported that the singer-songwriter and producer had uploaded an Instagram story yesterday on the matter. Lisa shared a photo of of the three of them together on her own Instagram account as well.
Apparently, the meet happened at the Chanel: Pharrell Celebration Party yesterday.
Jennie and Williams were billed to perform together at the function in conjunction with the celebration of Chanel’s first flagship boutique in Seoul, South Korea.
