KUALA LUMPUR: Hujan lead singer Noh Salleh has urged the entertainment industry and media to “pull out” all photos and videos of his wife Mizz Nina during her heydays as a pop singer.
“It’s Nina’s request. She wants all images of herself without the tudung withdrawn. We’ve met various quarters to get this done,” he said in a news report yesterday.
The 34-year-old artiste however added that if unknown individuals still uploaded her videos and photos on cyberspace, it was beyond their control.
When asked about his music, Noh said he had recently composed two songs dedicated to Nina, whose real name is Shazrina Azman. They will be launched on July 1 which also marks her 39th birthday.
“I’ll begin recording them next month, and after Hari Raya Aidilfitri in June,” he said, adding that the launch will also commemorate their ninth wedding anniversary.
Noh said his wife was currently following a long-distance religious educational course from teachers in Colombo, Sri Lanka. “She might even attend classes in Colombo later,” he said.
Nina formed the hip-hop and pop group Teh Tarik Crew in 1999 and went solo in 2007.
Her first solo album What You Waiting For was released in 2010. In 2013, she teamed up with South Korean singer Jay Park in the hit song Around The World.
She has performed in major concerts such as MTV World Stage 2012 and Twin Towers Alive 2011 and 2013, besides opening for American singer Pitbull during his 2011 concert in Malaysia.
After performing Hajj with Noh in 2013, Nina retired from singing and launched her own Islamic fashion label.
She also formed her own production company Big Fish Entertainment which produces educational programmes, and Islamic lifestyle chanel DOPS TV.
