KUALA LUMPUR: The popular South Korean action horror Train To Busan returns to the cinemas next year with a sequel.
In a recent news report, the second movie with the working title Bando (Korean for peninsula), is set four years after the Seoul to Busan train tragedy which saw a zombie outbreak.
However, the sequel will not feature the previous cast who had managed to get out from the train alive.
This means Gong Yoo, Ma Dong-seok and Jung Yu-mi will not be returning in the sequel. Instead, the new cast will be Kang Dong-won playing the male lead alongside actress Lee Jung-hyun.
Bando will focus on the whole country and how it deals with the aftermath of the apocalypse.
Train To Busan was a massive hit, breaking box-office records in South Korea when it was released in 2016. It drew over 11 million cinema-goers, grossing US$87 million (RM359 million) at the box office.
