#Showbiz: Jimin and Jisoo in The Business of Fashion's BoF 500 list

KUALA LUMPUR: Having inspired music fans worldwide, two K-Pop idols have also made an impact in the world of fashion by making it into The Business of Fashion’s BoF 500 list.

According to Koreaboo, Jimin of international music sensation BTS and Jisoo from the red hot quartet BlackPink were selected by the famous daily fashion resource that has been around since 2007.

Its official website states that The Business of Fashion is the definitive professional index of the people shaping the USD2.4 trillion (about RM10 trillion) fashion industry.

The BoF 500 list is made up of fashion influencers who are pushing the industry forward and have the potential to be impactful on a global scale.

The selection of the BoF 500’s members are apparently done by the editors of The Business of Fashion, based on hundreds of nominations received from current BoF 500 members, extensive data analysis, and research.

The 7th annual BoF 500 list was announced yesterday, ahead of the annual BoF 500 gala at the Paris Fashion Week event in France.

On the BoF website, both Jimin, 23, and Jisoo, 24, were found in the Models & Muses category where their careers and achievements were highlighted.

Jimin’s profile read: “The lead vocalist of the ubiquitous K-Pop group BTS has drawn the attention of Puma and Dior, marking the house’s first venture into men’s stagewear for a pop band.”

Jisoo’s was: “The lead singer of K-Pop girl group Blackpink, which has worked with Louis Vuitton and Dior Cosmetics for the band’s endorsement deals, is also a front row favourite.”

Other personalities from the entertainment scene included Indian actress Deepika Padukone, American actress Zendaya and the three members of China’s hottest boyband, TFBoys.
