#Showbiz: Aaron Aziz helps close to 1,000 people in need during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: Like other artistes who have been helping the needy during the Movement Control Order (MCO), Datuk Aaron Aziz has spent about RM50,000 so far to distribute essential supplies to the less fortunate.

According to a news report today, the actor had relayed help to close to 1,000 needy individuals and families through his charitable organisation, Journey To Insyirah.

Aaron said that the donations were given to various communities in Pahang, Melaka, Johor, Perlis, Kedah, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

"Praise be to God, we have received a lot of funds from people ever since this organisation started two years ago."

"When the Covid-19 pandemic happened and the MCO was enforced, many people messaged my wife and I for help. So we were able to channel the donations to those who really need it.

"I hope that whatever we do will be of help to the needy at this moment," he said.

Aaron said right now the focus was on giving milk and disposable diapers.

"Prior to this, we gave out a lot of daily essential items. Right now, many have asked for milk and disposable diapers."

"After this, we will focus on buying medicines as many have also messaged us for that," he said.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the charitable organisation had helped to provide lodging and clean water, as well as a van for a tahfiz centre in Langkawi, Kedah.

The organisation was co-founded by Aaron with his wife, Datin Dayana Halik, and a friend, Ustazah Khadijah.
