#Showbiz: Jamal delighted sons following his footsteps

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datuk Jamal Abdillah has always encouraged his sons to make full use of their singing talent.

The proud parent is delighted that 18-year-old Osama Yamani Jamal and 13-year-old Ahmad Zaki Yamani Jamal have come up with their own singles Bunga Seroja and Percayaku respectively.

"I've always told my sons to put their studies first-- it is good to further your studies until university. However, since they can sing and love it, I'm happy that they have recorded their own songs," said Jamal in a news report yesterday.

"It is good to make full use of your talent, so long as you further your studies at the same time for a brighter future."

Jamal added that even though his sons still had a long way to go as singers, he was proud of their work ethics and dedication in the studio.

"They are serious and focused, and they are determined to make it on their own," he said, adding that their voices sounded a lot like his.

Bunga Seroja, which was launched on YouTube in March has had more than 840,000 views.

Percayaku, which was launched on YouTube in February has had more than 500,000 views.

Jamal has three children, the youngest of whom is seven-month-old Nur Azura Yamani. She is the daughter of Jamal and his wife of three years Datin Zai Izzati Khiruddin.

Osama and Zaki are Jamal's sons from two previous marriages.

Jamal has just recorded a Hari Raya duet with Osama titled Hari Raya Menjadi Saksi.
