#Showbiz: 'When you pray for the rain, you have to deal with the mud, too' - Shuib

KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian-turned-entrepreneur Shuib Muhammad spent 23 hours at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with a money-laundering case yesterday.

The 36-year-old whose real name is Shahmira Muhammad said that the process went smoothly and thanked the MACC officers for treating him well.

"Thank you all who prayed for me and my wife Siti Sarah Raissuddin. I was called by the MACC to help investigations into a money-laundering case. They treated me very well throughout the 23 hours at their office," said Shuib in an Instagram post today.

The member of comedy troupe Sepahtu added: "It's part of the challenge of running a business. Pray that our drinks company Bubble Bee will continue to attain success.

"As they say, when you pray for the rain, you have to deal with the mud, too."

Shuib's and Siti Sarah's fellow artiste friends expressed their relief that the celebrity couple were treated well, and commended them for playing their part in curbing money-laundering.

Comedian Zizan Razak said: "Thank God you guys are all right. Proud that you did your job."

"All the best Shuib and Siti Sarah," said singer Syafiq Farhain.

"Take care guys. I'm glad things went on smoothly," said singer Tomok.

Siti Sarah, 36, had earlier said on Instagram that they had given their fullest cooperation to the MACC.

"Thank God everything went all right. We were called to assist them and we fulfilled our responsibilities as citizens," she said.

Shuib's and Siti Sarah's manager Nana Mohamad Rom said that the award-winning singer merely accompanied her husband and was not involved in the investigation.

It was reported yesterday that the celebrity couple were called up by the MACC in Putrajaya after the authorities made a call to their home at 4am.
