KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian and entrepreneur Shahmira Muhamad, better known as Shuib, has rejected an apology from a woman who had accused him online of exploiting the death of his late wife and singer, Siti Sarah, to gain publicity.
The 40-year-old artiste of Sepahtu fame has decided to take legal action and insists the individual involved should face him in court.
"Wait, my lawyer will call you. God willing, see you in court," he wrote in a series of recent Instagram Story posts, according to Oh Bulan!.
He added: "I've sued people in court before for much less stupid posts."
Shuib also shared screenshots of a conversation where the woman repeatedly apologised for her remarks. But the damage had already been done and the comedian questioned her motives.
"Why did you write that? Have you ever lost a loved one? How would you feel if someone suggested you were riding on the death of your family member? Did I disturb you? Insult your family?" Shuib asked.
He expressed frustration over people using the name of his late wife in their personal attacks and stressed how much these comments hurt.
"For me, it's taboo to associate things like this with my late wife, to talk bad about her!" he added.
The controversy began after Shuib invited an ex-convict, Khairul Anuar Zakaria, also known as Abah Hayat, onto his podcast.
This drew strong criticism online, with the woman in particular accusing Shuib of exploiting his wife's death for attention.
Shuib, angered by the accusation, revealed the woman's Instagram account and refused to accept her apology.
