KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actress and theatre activist Fauziah Nawi is relieved to be able to finally voice the hardship faced by her and friends in the creative industry to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah himself.
Taking to Facebook today, the 67-year-old artiste shared a lengthy posting about her audience with the King at Istana Negara earlier in the morning.
"Praise be to God, a few of my fellow creative industry workers and I were granted an audience with the King. At the meeting, we shared with him the troubles artistes and others from the industry have been facing since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO).
"We also gave some suggestions including having some leeway be given to us to carry on with our work during these hard times," shared the star of drama Pondok Buruk.
Fauziah explained that without a fixed income since their earnings are based on project basis, it would be difficult to make ends meet.
She also thanked the National Security Council (NSC), National Film Development Corporation (Finas), and creative industry associations for their efforts in trying to solve the problem faced by everyone in the industry.
Recently, Fauziah had expressed her wish to meet Malaysia's 16th Agong to express the problems plaguing many in the industry due to their inability to go out and work.
