KUALA LUMPUR: Casting director Aslam Yusoff is the recipient of the Asean Inspiring Award 2021 at the Asean Awards 2021, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia tomorrow.
He said that the award was the result of his work and credibility in managing his own casting agency Zana Entertainment after eight years in the film industry.
"I was surprised when I received the invitation for this awards event as I hadn't submitted any entry.
"This recognition came unexpectedly but I'm glad I get to make Malaysia proud. I believe the hard work and dedication I've put in as casting director has opened their eyes," he said in a news report today.
However, due to the current pandemic and travel restrictions, Aslam will not be attending the event.
Among the films which he was involved in as casting director included Polis Evo1, 2 and 3, Pusaka, and Bulan & Pria Terhebat.
Aslam also took on the role of private acting coach to actor Hairul Azreen when the latter was filming Paskal.
