#Showbiz: Syamsul Yusof set to direct 'KL Gangster 3' soon

KUALA LUMPUR: The third film for the KL Gangster franchise will be filmed anytime soon, announced award-winning director Syamsul Yusof.

Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old filmmaker also stated that KL Gangster 3 The Finale, would be the last film for the franchise.

Syamsul is also seeking assistance from his fans and followers on the suitable choice of two great actors set to play new characters in the film.

"An update on KL Gangster 3 The Finale. I will need two great actors to play the role of two new characters who will be fighting Malik (played by Datuk Aaron Aziz in the two previous movies), Jai (Datuk Adi Putra), Shark (Syamsul himself) and the rest in this film.

"Do you guys have anyone in mind? Leave your suggestions and tell me why I should cast them in the comment section here," wrote Syamsul in the entry.

Besides creating a buzz among fans of the films, fellow celebrities also responded to the post which received more than 80,000 likes.

Some actors even volunteered their own names.

The first film, KL Gangster which was released in 2011 tells the story of two brothers Malik and Jai who are entrapped in the gangster world. Its prequel, KL Gangster 2, was released in 2013.
