KUALA LUMPUR: Although Taeyeon of Girls' Generation had recently garnered the Best Female Solo award at the Genie Music Awards in South Korea, her following posts on social media made fans worried.
According to AsiaOne, the K-Pop idol was in high spirits when she received the award and even promised to hold a solo concert for fans.
But when she later uploaded a series of pictures on her Instagram account, fans were taken aback by her morbid message.
A handwritten note in the post read: "Even if I'm not around, the world will continue to turn."
Many surprised fans responded by trying to calm her down.
"Unnie (older sister), the world won't be the same without you," wrote one fan.
Another said: "What's the point of a world without Taeyeon?"
In 2019, Taeyeon revealed that she was suffering from depression.
While responding to a question on her mental health during an Instagram Stories session, she said: "I'm suffering from depression."
Taeyeon added: "I am working hard to get better through treatment with antidepressants."
When other fans also revealed their battle with depression, she said: "It will get better."
