KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong martial arts star Jackie Chan's daughter Etta Ng has refused to have a Chinese New Year reunion dinner with her mother Elaine Ng.
AsiaOne reported that Etta, 23, told Hong Kong media that she would "rather be homeless and eat stale bread" than reunite with her mother, former beauty queen Elaine.
Elaine, 50 and Etta do not have a good relationship, particularly after Etta married Canadian Andi Autumn, 35, in 2018.
Prior to their marriage, Etta and Autumn took to YouTube and said that they were homeless due to "prejudiced" parents.
That year, the duo reportedly stayed in a hostel in Mong Kok for five nights, racking up a bill of HK$2,250 (RM1,247).
However, Etta only had HK$20 (RM11) and could not foot the bill.
They turned to Elaine for help, and she took them to a bank to withdraw money.
In July last year, Elaine wrote a sarcastic social media post to Autumn and Etta, alleging that Autumn was overspending and depending on Etta for money.
More recently, Etta was spotted queuing for free food leading netizens to believe that her living conditions were far from ideal.
