#Showbiz: Zamani still rocks despite surgery

SHAH ALAM: Barely three months after his back surgery, singer Zamani Ibrahim was his energetic self again.

The Slam lead singer showed fans he was capable of standing up and dancing a little on stage at the launch of Yes Sir, the theme song for the Feb 9 action film Coast Guard.

Zamani, 52, performed the song as a duet with hip-hop singer Ariff Peter at the Subang Maritime Air Station in Subang here on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, attempts by the media to interview him were unsuccessful as he had to rush home.

Ariff subsequently apologised on his behalf and said that Zamani was "under the weather".

Earlier this month, Zamani said that he felt a lot better after undergoing a scoliosis surgery in November.

"I have on-off back pain and swelling in my legs. As a result I cannot do heavy tasks which make me bend my back. I constantly seek my doctors' advice when it comes to performing household chores," said Zamani.

Coast Guard stars Julia Farhana Marin and Saharul Ridzwan. Directed by the late Pitt Hanif, it is the first film about the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
