KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore Ballet is set to return after a four-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, staging a production called "Ballet Illuminations" at KLPAC's Pentas 1 from April 14 to 16.
The company, previously known as Singapore Dance Theatre, will showcase an internationally renowned triple bill production featuring classical and contemporary ballet works.
This includes Choo-San Goh's "Schubert Symphony," Tim Rushton's "Evening Voices," and George Balanchine's "Theme and Variations."
Malaysian audiences can look forward to the premieres of "Schubert Symphony" and "Evening Voices," which will be performed for the first time in the country.
In addition, a masterclass with Singapore Ballet's artistic director Janek Schergen is scheduled for April 15 from 3pm to 4.30pm at Pentas 1, KLPAC.
The fee for the masterclass is RM75, but "Ballet Illuminations" ticket holders are entitled to a 20 per cent discount.
This session is suitable for individuals aged 14 and above who are in the Intermediate grade or higher.
Tickets for the 85-minute "Ballet Illuminations" performance (with a 15-minute intermission) are priced at RM75 and RM45 (for students, disabled individuals, seniors, and TAS Card members) and can be purchased online at www.cloudjoi.com.
It is important to note that no admission will be granted to infant-in-arms or children under 4 years old.
