#Showbiz: Pamungkas in first KL concert

POPULAR Indonesian singer Pamungkas will serenade fans in Malaysia tomorrow in his Nusa Fest Presents Pamungkas concert.

Set to take place at 8.30pm in Zepp KL, Jalan Hang Tuah, Kuala Lumpur, the show will be 30-year-old artiste's first showcase in the federal capital.

The production is also part of event organiser Shiraz Projects' Nusa Fest Presents concert series that features entertainers from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Shiraz Projects' chief executive officer Shirazdeen Karim says Pamungkas was the first artiste in the series and promised an "intimate and personal" two-hour show.

"Zepp KL is a fantastic new concert hall with state-of-the-art facilities. It is just the right place to host Indonesia's hugely popular rising star Pamungkas," says Shirazdeen in a recent statement.

Shirazdeen adds that Pamungkas was currently on his Birdy South East Asia Tour that covers a dozen venues in the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

"Malaysian fans will get to sing and dance to his catchy songs such as To The Bone, I Love You But I'm Letting Go, Kenangan Manis, Sorry and One Only.

"Prepare yourselves since there will be a lot of sing-along opportunities," he says.

Pamungkas, whose full name is Rizki Rahmahadian Pamungkas, learnt to play the drums when he was 8 and pursued a course in visual communication design when he was 20.

In 2009 he joined the band Potenzio and released an album titled Jingga.

The Jakarta-born pop and blues artiste released his debut solo album Walk The Talk in 2018 and his sophomore effort, titled Flying Solo, the following year.

With five solo albums under his belt, his best-known song is To The Bone, which garnered over 240 million views on YouTube last July.

The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and actor won the Best Alternative Performance award for I Don't Wanna Be Alone and the Alternative Song Of The Year title for To The Bone at the Indonesian Music Awards in 2021.

To The Bone was Indonesia's top song on music streaming platform Spotify two years ago and also made it to Indonesia's Top 50 songs.

Tickets to the upcoming concert at Zepp KL are priced at RM500 (inclusive of a Meet & Greet session), RM200 (Diamond), RM150 (Platinum), RM200 (Gold) and RM150 (Silver).
