#Showbiz: Bunga Isme surprised to be chosen as opening act for Coldplay

KUALA LUMPUR: Hip-hop singer Bunga Isme, 23, is surprised but delighted to be chosen as the opening act for Coldplay's Nov 22 concert at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Bunga or Noor Ayu Fatini Bakhari said that she would do her best to give fans at the concert a commendable performance.

"I received this great news two months ago. I was initially surprised, but it's truly an honour to be chosen," said Bunga in an interview with Harian Metro Online yesterday.

She also said that she grew up listening to the famous British band's songs and described them as world-class entertainers with superb showmanship.

"It's a challenge to entertain a massive crowd of 85,000, but I will work hard to prepare myself and give it my best shot," said Bunga, who will perform with her own band.

Bunga hoped that Malaysian artistes and their music would be promoted internationally by having them open for foreign bands.

"I haven't started rehearsing yet as I've got some exams around the corner. God willing, I will be free to focus 100 per cent on the concert after Hari Raya Aidil Adha," she said.
