#Showbiz: Hairul Azreen announces retirement from acting

KUALA LUMPUR: The star of Malbatt: Misi Bakara, Hairul Azreen, has retired from the entertainment scene in order to focus on family and business.

The 35-year-old artiste made the shocking announcement during his guest session for the 3Pagi Era radio programme today.

"I want to announce that I will no longer be acting since I have already done everything. I started as a stuntman.

"I have become an actor in feature films and God has realised my dream to become an action hero.

"My film Paskal has encouraged people to join the military forces.

"The film Malbatt: Misi Bakara will be my last role as a soldier.

"I think God has already given me many things and I don't want to be someone who doesn't know how to be thankful," he said.

When asked by the radio announcers on whether it was his final decision, Hairul said that he had done many things including behind-the-scenes work which included becoming a film investor, director and producer.

He added that he had already discussed this decision with his wife and popular influencer, Hanis Zalikha.

Hairul also explained that he wanted to quit in order not to miss out on experiencing the growing years of his two children, Yusuf Iskandar, 6, and Alisa Aisyah, 3.

"There are people who don't get to mind their parents because they are busy working. Some miss out on seeing their children grow up.

"Praise be to God, my mother is still living.

"I done the math on myself and my family. For me, when I'm doing a film, I need six months to get my body in shape.

"Six times a week, in the morning, afternoon and night, while knowing my children are bigger now and going to school.

"I think that whatever I've done all this while is enough. So after this, I want to focus on business.

"But I will still be active on social media like TikTok and Instagram, just that I will not be acting anymore, "he said.
