The celebrity chef who was diagnosed with lymphoma last August said in an Instagram post yesterday that he was confident of "beating the disease" with the help of his doctor identified only as Dr Jay.

"I still need to maintain my health and Dr Jay is keeping a close watch on me to make sure that I eat right and maintain a healthy lifestyle," said Chef Wan.

He said that his chemotherapy was painful but he braced himself for it.

"I had to lie down on my bed for four hours to make sure the medicine which the doctor injected into my back flowed to every part of my body including my head. The pain was worth bearing because the medicine is my shield against the disease," he added.

Chef Wan said Dr Jay praised him for thinking positively and told him that by being positive, half of the battle against the disease had been won.

He revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer on Aug 3.

He said that he was ready to fight the disease and win, and was glad to have it detected early by his doctors
