KUALA LUMPUR: Although it has been two years since she was declared cancer-free, artiste Elyana Emrizal says she is still currently undergoing chemotherapy as advised by doctors.
In a Harian Metro report recently, the 37-year-old said that as someone who had been diagnosed with cancer, there were times when her condition would be unpredictable.
"I can't really tell if I'm really okay now. There would be times when I'd be feeling under the weather, but praise be to God, I can still carry on with my work at the moment.
"But at the moment, I have found a way to be at peace with my condition.
"Whenever I'm not well, I already know what to do," she said.
Elyana had been battling stage 4 lymphoma cancer for 11 years before she was declared cancer-free in December 2021.
She added that she was supposed to go for a 12-round chemotherapy session, but had only gone for four sessions to date.
"When I was declared cancer-free two years ago, doctors told me to carry on with the treatment, but I decided to take a break first before continuing with chemotherapy.
"And now, I'm ready to continue," she explained.
