KUALA LUMPUR: Film producer Datuk A. Aida has decided to give an opportunity to actress and singer Bella Astillah to star in three of her production scripts.
Aida said she sympathised with Bella following her husband's adultery case and she wished to help the actress hone her acting talents.
"I've 'locked' Bella in for a period of one year. This decision is also to assist Bella financially and to sharpen her acting skills.
"Each script will be broadcast on Salam HD UnifiTV channel. Hopefully, the busy set will help Bella forget all the sadness she has been through.
"Moreover, I have known Bella for a long time. Since she was young, Bella has been acting in my productions.
"If I'm not mistaken, she was only 7 years old at the time. Back then, Bella and Didi Astillah were already acting with me," she told HIP.
Aida said the three scripts for Bella comprised two telefilms – one entitled "Elhan Untuk Nian" and an adaptation of the novel "Matahariku" -- and a 13-episode drama series entitled "Game Over Romeo".
Previously, Aida reportedly said she had blacklisted Nur Ruhainies Farehah Zainul Ilyas, or popularly known as Ruhainies, from acting in her productions after the latter was allegedly caught in close proximity with Bella's husband, Aliff Aziz.
Aida said that Ruhainies was supposed to be involved in the filming of "Elhan Untuk Nian", but she had been removed from the cast list.
Aida also said there would be more opportunities awaiting Bella with her production company.
"After this, I have other plans for Bella. Perhaps she will be involved in four more telefilms. I will also take Bella as a host for upcoming programmes.
"I will schedule Bella for all the offers given," she said.
Bella, whose real name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, expressed gratitude for the opportunity by Aida.
Since last week, Bella and Aliff's marriage had once again become a hot topic when her husband and Ruhainies were allegedly caught at a luxury condominium in the capital last Saturday.
Yesterday, Bella attended the Federal Territory Syariah Court in Jalan Duta for the first mention regarding the divorce application filed against Aliff two days earlier. However, Aliff was not present in court.
