#SHOWBIZ: Dayang Nurfaizah dazzles at TV3 anniversary celebration [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Multiple award-winning singer Dayang Nurfaizah Awang Dowty entertained over 500 audience members with some of her greatest hits in conjunction with television station TV3's 40th anniversary today.

The 42-year-old Sarawakian diva's 75-minute showcase took place at Muzium Telekom in Jalan Raja Chulan here at 8pm, and saw her perform five songs such as Umpan Jinak Di Air Tenang, Ketipang Payung, Di Pintu Syurga, Lelaki Teragung and Dayang Sayang Kamu.

"Thank you so much for your support, TV3. I want to wish you a happy 40th birthday and may you grow from strength to strength," she said.

"Without you, especially music awards show Anugerah Juara Lagu and music chart show Muzik Muzik, I wouldn't have made it on the national and even international music map."

TV3, which turned 40 last Saturday, collaborated with the museum's Galeri Seni Digital to organise the special anniversary celebration Immersio: Inspirasi Generasi TV3, which ends on June 9.

The special event is divided into three categories, the Inspirasi Art Showcase, Inspirasi Bazaar (June 1 and 2) and Lights & Arts Expressive Showcase (June 1 to 2 and June 8 to 9).

The art showcase features interactive light shows and contemporary art.

Visitors can experience the world of TV3 through the "project mapping" method, which displays the works of six local artists who have transformed six rooms at Muzium Telekom.

The art project aims to explore TV3 through the current generation's perspective on what it takes to be a source of inspiration and how this can be reflected via the channel's main programmes.

The Lights & Arts Expressive Showcase treats visitors to intimate performances by Aina Abdul, Dayang, Naim Daniel and Alyph.

TV3 chief executive officer Nini Yusof said that the station was very grateful to loyal viewers who have continued to support them all these years.

"The theme Inspirasi Generasi truly reflects our journey over the years, as an inspiration, a pioneer in innovation and a driver of change in the television industry.

"We believe that this celebration is not only to show appreciation for our history and success but also to strengthen our commitment to the future.

"With the activities we have planned, we hope to strengthen the relationship with our loyal viewers and spread the magic of TV3 to everyone," she said in a statement.

Nini added: "Visitors who attend can donate to Media Prima's Palestinian Humanitarian Fund throughout the duration of the event.

"We stand with the Palestinian people in their struggle and we will continue to support humanitarian and just efforts."

Throughout June, the channel will also highlight various special programmes and exciting activities to liven up the atmosphere for its loyal viewers.
