AFTER the phenomenal drama 'Lelaki Itu' with Marsha Milan Londoh's moving song 'Dulu Kini Dan Akhirnya' as its soundtrack, the Sabahan powerhouse now presents its equally heartfelt sequel.
Marsha's latest song, 'Hening Rindu', is the soundtrack for TV3 drama 'Aku Bukan Ustazah', which is on the television station's 'Akasia' slot every Monday to Friday at 7pm.
SOULFUL BALLAD
'Hening Rindu' is a soulful ballad created by composers Ikhwan Fattana and Wan Salleh, with lyrics by Wan Salleh.
It is Marsha's ninth single under Alternate Records & Talents, and it was launched at Warner Music (M) Sdn Bhd in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, recently.
Ikhwan said Marsha's exceptional vocals were capable of delivering a profound message.
"This is my first collaboration with Marsha and she is amazing! I'm happy to collaborate with her. We both hope that 'Hening Rindu' will be a blast with music lovers," he said.
SAD BALLAD
Marsha said 'Hening Rindu' was a sad ballad, particularly the longing for a loved one.
"It has a mesmerising melody, its lyrics talk about profound loss, precious memories and endless love," she said.
UNIVERSAL THEME
Marsha added that: "Delivering the theme song of a romantic drama requires a deep appreciation.
"Not just conveying the lyrics and melody, but also feeling and understanding the emotions of the character portrayed in the song."
DRAMA FANS
Marsha hoped that 'Hening Rindu' would win the hearts of drama fans.
"Listening to the melody captured my heart.
"This song and its dramatic music video tell the story of something we all feel at least once in our lifetime," said Marsha.
She said that as a singer, it was her responsibility to give dynamic flavours and colours to any given musical canvas.
LONG-SUFFERING
'Hening Rindu' music video is a continuation of its predecessor's.
Directed by Izuan Mokhtar, it sees Marsha play a long-suffering wife who is neglected by her husband, played by Singapore-born actor Datuk Adi Putra, as he has another woman in his life.
TRAGEDY
After a heated quarrel, Marsha drives home to her parents' kampung and is involved in an accident.
She is believed to have died along with the baby she was expecting.
Adi is devastated and regrets his cruel treatment of Marsha, praying hard that she and the baby will live.
SEPANG
The music video features beautiful locations and stunning cinematography at Eco Majestic in Semenyih; Batai in Damansara Heights, Sepang; Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang, Subang Bestari in Sungai Buloh and Tadom Hill in Banting.
Marsha said: "Filming took three days last month, shortly after the song was recorded within a day."
CHERISH
Marsha added that the song was about a man who did not appreciate his wife, and its message was the need for people to cherish their loved ones and not take them for granted.
Marsha said that since she often starred in drama series, it was "timely" for her to also sing the theme songs of such series.
"Acting in a drama makes me identify with its theme song, and makes me sing it well, with passion and emotion," she said.
RETRO
While Marsha loves ballads, she does not confine herself to them.
She said she would love to sing retro pop like 'Macam Dulu-Dulu', her duet with Khai Bahar, which was great fun.
'Hening Rindu' is available on online streaming platforms, including iTunes and Spotify.
