#SHOWBIZ: Ezad Lazim's heartfelt rendition of 'Rindu Hatiku Rindu'

THE 1990s throwback melody of 'Rindu Hatiku Rindu' has once again captured the hearts of Malaysian listeners, this time through the voice of popular singer Ezad Lazim.

Originally recorded by young talent Tantari (Naufal Azahel Mohd Alfian) earlier this year, the song gained immense popularity, topping YouTube's trending list for 20 consecutive days and amassing over nine million views.

Now, Ezad Lazim brings a fresh take on this touching ballad, imbuing it with his distinctive, melodious voice and emotional depth.

His version has already begun to resonate with fans, blending nostalgia with a more mature and heartfelt performance.

"It's an honour to be given the opportunity to re-record a song that has already found a place in people's hearts," Ezad said.

"I hope my version will be just as well-received as the original."

Ezad's rendition of 'Rindu Hatiku Rindu' stands out not only for his vocal prowess, but also for his thoughtful approach to the re-recording process.

He worked closely with the producer to ensure the essence of the original track remained intact, while adapting the arrangement to suit his adult voice.

"The original version, sung by Tantari, has a certain charm that appealed to a younger audience," he said. "With my version, I hope to attract a broader range of listeners. We kept the core elements of the song, but made slight adjustments to match my style and vocal range."

Ezad's deep, emotive performance brings new life to the song, offering a more mature take while preserving the heart of the original.

His version of 'Rindu Hatiku Rindu' is expected to reach a wider audience and introduce the beloved ballad to new listeners.

The song's original version, recorded when Tantari was just 6 years old, was released in February and became a viral hit.

Apart from its success on YouTube, it also garnered attention on TikTok, with its music video reaching over four million views on HafizFeisal's account.

Ezad's version, released last month, is now available for streaming across all music platforms.

The official lyric video, uploaded in September, quickly rose to the Top 20 trending list on YouTube, proving the enduring popularity of this emotional ballad.
