KUALA LUMPUR: The Syariah High Court in Jalan Duta here has set July 3 for mention of the khalwat case involving Singaporean singer-actor Aliff Aziz and local actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas.
The artistes' Syarie lawyer Hadi Salleh said in a Berita Harian report today that they showed up at the court this morning to apply for an extension of their bail bond.
He said that Aliff and Ruhainies, who arrived at 8.40am and left at 11.50am were released on bail of RM1,500 each.
Aliff and Ruhainies were nabbed by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) on March 9 for khalwat at her condominium in the heart of the city.
Jawi director Datuk Mohd Ajib Ismail had earlier said that the investigation papers of their khalwat case had been sent to the Federal Territories Syariah Enforcement Department (Japens) for further action.
Aliff recently called on his fans to pray that the case will be resolved smoothly, and that he was giving his full cooperation to Jawi.
