#SHOWBIZ: Dharma is happy to remain in current home

KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor Dharma Harun Al-Rashid of Adik Manja fame is happy to continue living in his current home in Wangsa Maju here.

While the 68-year-old actor and his two children have not ruled out moving into a People's Housing Project (PPR) home later, they are contented to remain in their rented residence for now, as all outstanding rent has finally been settled.

"I want to thank all fans and well-wishers who helped us settle our outstanding rent. We like our current residence and feel that it is best that we stay put," he said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

Dharma also said that "moving house" would be time-consuming and a lot of packing had to be done.

"I'm still unwell, I'm down with a bad flu," he said.

Dharma also said that he was still in discussions with Pusat Zakat concerning financial aid from the department.

"God willing, they will do their utmost to ease our financial burden soon."

It was reported last month that Dharma's landlord gave him until today to settle RM7,500 in outstanding rent.

He is recuperating from a stroke which he suffered in 2019, and his two children Siti Qurratu Aini, 36, and Muhammad Al Syafiq Mohamad Azman, 35, are pursuing postgraduate courses.

Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia (Karyawan), Yayasan Budi and several fans have helped Dharma and his children settle their outstanding rent.
