#SHOWBIZ: Baim Wong finds happiness in simplicity

INDONESIAN actor Baim Wong confessed that he has not bought luxury goods in the past four years and is comfortable with just having enough.

The 43-year-old artiste came to this realisation after ruminating on the hardship of others struggling with financial problems. This also made him uncomfortable with showing off wealth.

"I rarely wear luxury items. I used to, but now I don't. I've worn luxury watches before, but I don't feel comfortable.

"If I sell them, the (amount from the) prices of the watches alone can be used by those who need money. But, that's my feeling.

"Since then, I wear whatever is available. I usually only buy expensive shoes because I want comfortable footwear.

"When it comes to clothes, expensive and cheap are the same for me," he said in a recent 'Harian Metro' report.

The star of Indonesian thriller 'Innocent Vengeance' admitted that he no longer pursues worldly wealth.

He has enough that can be passed on to his family one day.

"No matter how much wealth we have, the end is the same. The meaning of wealth involves doing good deeds to accumulate 'pahala' for when we die. What's important is to be doing charitable works," he said.

Baim, who was in the country to attend an anniversary event for a brand at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, is one of the hardest-working celebrities in Indonesia.

He likes to be productive and admitted that the word "tired" does not exist in his vocabulary.

"If you like to work, you won't feel it. It's a lot, and I already have a team of workers to help me. The schedule can be worked out. But, it's a lot, and it includes a film I'll be screening in Malaysia as well."
