KUALA LUMPUR: Indian actress Sunaina and YouTuber Khalid Al Ameri have got digital tongues wagging after sharing photos online that many assume signal their engagement.
On June 5, the Tamil movie star posted a cryptic picture featuring the hands of a man and woman holding one another captioned with a lock emoji.
No other explanation was given in her post.
The Dubai-based social media influencer then reciprocated with a similar post on June 26, this time with a closeup of a couple's hands holding each other.
The only difference was a conspicuous diamond ring on the lady's finger.
Various news sites have reported that this was an indication that the two were set to tie the knot.
It was also reported that Khalid's ex-wife Salama Mohamed had revealed in a recent episode of NourAldin Alyousuf's YouTube channel that she and Khalid were divorced.
She apparently revealed that their divorce had been finalised on Feb 14 this year.
Khalid is a graduate of Stanford and, together with Salama, became one of the most popular influencer couples in the Middle East amassing millions of followers on their individual social media accounts.
Sunaina, who stars mainly in Tamil films, made her debut in with actor Nakul in 2008's Kadhalil Vizhunthen.
Her latest work was in the Tamil crime thriller, Inspector Rishi, which was released on Amazon Prime Video in March.
Neither Sunaina nor Khalid have reacted to the speculation of their impending nuptials.
Like Sunaina, Khalid he also did not reveal who the fiancée was in his post but it was reported that he would reveal more only closer to the wedding date.
