Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia (Karyawan) will help actor Iqbal Mazlan, who is visually impaired, to get an appointment with eye surgeon Datuk Prof Dr Muhaya Mohamad.
Its chairman, Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim, said the actor had previously been unsuccessful in obtaining an appointment.
"I am arranging an appointment with Dr Muhaya to get Iqbal to undergo an eye examination.
"I will be escorting Iqbal to see Dr Muhaya after returning from Langkawi next week. God willing, I will work on it," she said in a recent 'Berita Harian' report.
On whether Karyawan will cover Iqbal's medical costs, Khadijah said the matter would decided after the eye examination.
"We'll see how the situation goes. For now, that's the most important thing.
"The rest we will work on and do our best to help. We just want to see Iqbal recover quickly," she added.
On Tuesday, Karyawan handed over a donation to Iqbal at his residence in Kapar, Klang.
On March 5 last year, Iqbal was admitted to Shah Alam Hospital for a sudden problem with his vision.
