#SHOWBIZ: Karyawan willing to help consult on Che Ta issue

KUALA LUMPUR: Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia or Karyawan is ready to help actress Rozita Che Wan, 51, or Che Ta and her eldest son, Ammar Effendy, 28, who have allegedly failed to repay a Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) loan of almost RM1 million.

Its president Datuk Freddie Fernandez said in a Harian Metro report yesterday that they were willing to lend Rozita and Ammar a helping hand by being a consultant for them.

"In a case such as this the affected artiste needs to show sincerity in settling the loan.

"It also depends on the artiste's willingness to discuss matters with us and resolve the problem without resorting to legal action," said Fernandez.

Fernandez added that Rozita had not contacted Karyawan and might not be a member of the association.

"But we will help any artiste who has problems because that is the job of our association.

"If Che Ta contacts us, we are still willing to help her."

It was reported recently that Mara's legal division was in the process of filing for bankruptcy against Rozita and Ammar.
