#SHOWBIZ: Kara's new single 'Hello' features late K-pop star Goo Hara

KUALA LUMPUR: The voice of K-pop idol Goo Hara who died in 2019 is featured in girl group Kara's new ballad song, Hello.

According to Variety, the track was released on Tuesday with another digital single, I Do, I Do, set to drop on July 25.

The K-pop quintet's agency, RBW, had announced that the song has since been rearranged and remastered using Goo's original voice recording from 2013.

It also includes vocals by Hur Young-ji, who joined Kara in 2014.

"The song is now finished with the late Goo's Korean vocals pre-recorded before her death, bringing all six members together," said RBW.

Apparently, Goo had recorded a separate Japanese-language version of the song in 2019.

The late singer and actress was a former member of the five-member girl group from 2008 to 2015 before going solo.

Goo's tragic death on Nov 24, 2019 shocked the entertainment world when her lifeless body was discovered at her home in Seoul, South Korea.  

She died at the age of 28 at the end of a year in which she had been blackmailed by a former boyfriend, attempted suicide and been dropped by her agency.

It was also reported that she had been affected by the suicide of her friend and fellow K-pop star Sulli who died on Oct 14, 2019.
