KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore-based Malaysian actor Zhang Yaodong who is a Mediacorp artiste has responded to various allegations about his private life made by netizens on social media.
Asia News Network reported yesterday that earlier this month, a netizen made several allegations about the 46-year-old on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu.
It was later followed by another netizen, who shared photos linked to the Singapore-based Malaysian actor.
Zhang however did not react to the allegations directly for about two weeks.
Mediacorp said in an interview with Chinese-language daily Lianhe Zaobao on July 5 that it was unable to comment on its artistes' personal matters.
Zhang's manager said on July 18 that the actor has filed a police report and sought legal advice over the allegations.
According to Shin Min Daily News on July 19, the two Xiaohongshu accounts have since taken down the posts.
