#SHOWBIZ: Brazilian performer Ayres Sasaki dies from electrocution during concert

KUALA LUMPUR: A Brazilian musician died after being electrocuted upon hugging a soaking wet fan on July 13.

As reported by The Independent, Ayres Sasaki, 35, received a fatal electric shock when he touched a wet fan during his performance at the Solar Hotel in Salinopolis.

Salinopolis police are investigating the incident and the Para Civil police have taken witness statements and requested expert reports.

The Solar Hotel shared a statement on Instagram expressing their commitment to cooperating fully with the investigation.

"We are dedicated to providing support to his family and taking the necessary measures. We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperate with the authorities for proper clarification of the events," the statement said.

Sasaki's wife, Mariana, took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the support she has received.

"I would like to thank you for every message of affection and comfort, for every prayer during this difficult time that we are going through. I haven't been able to read all the messages yet, but as I feel better, I will respond to each one. Thank you," her message read.

Sasaki, who was also an urban planner, had been married for 11 months.

His aunt, Rita Matos, indicated that the family is working to understand the circumstances of the incident.

"We are contacting people who were with him at that moment. We will gather all the information in a statement that we will release to the press," she said.
